A Fabulous Dessert!

I do not know why, but it happens! :) My mom's visit inspired me for a  fabulous dessert. I went crazy with it and used everything I had handy.

Here is what I made!

I used one baked apple and peach as the main ingredients for this dessert. This one is the apple one :) Here is what I did - at first I squeezed a half lemon on top of ice cubes and waited 10 minutes until the ice melted. This is done to keep the color and taste of the apple while it is baking in the oven. It should take about 15 minutes to get cooked. Thinly cut carrots are also placed into the lemon iced water to give it a delicate taste and shape it into the desired form. I also used one fresh fig, slices of peaches and apples, grapes, melted dark chocolate and white chocolate and lemon zest grated on top of everything! Go ahead and give it a try and use your imagination to play with it!

This is the second one. All the ingredients and steps are completely the same except substitute the apple with peach :)

This one was a yum yumm :) Take half cup of cream, whip it well until it gets foamy, then add 2 teaspoons of condensed milk and continue mixing for about 3 minutes. Pour into serving dish and put it in the freezer for 20 minutes, then take out, decorate with hot chocolate and raspberry. This serves two. You can have it with any berries or fruits of your choice. C'est tout :)

Hope you enjoyed!

What I Ate for Dinner!

Today was a busy day at work just like all others. I try to eat as healthy as I can during the day which gives me a salad for lunch and apples as a snack before dinner.

I had to rush home to make something for my husband and me as we both were extremely hungry. I went for a healthy salad and spaghetti (which is not as healthy as I would hope, but I really love spaghetti and cannot do anything about it). I usually serve it with onion, garlic and tomato sauce the recipe of which I will share soon! Today I was in a hurry and just served it with spicy ketchup on top. It was delicious.

As for the salad - it was super refreshing and full of vitamins. I cut 2 tomatoes, 2 cucumbers, a small piece of cabbage, celery with leaves and topped it with extra virgin olive oil which completed the super healthiness of the meal :)

Wishing you a great day!

My Recent Favorite Make-Up Products!

I started using make-up when I first went to college. Even as a teenager I loved to watch my mom put her make-up on and would try using them while she was not home : ) During these years I have tried many products and I always knew that the most important part of the whole make-up process is of course the Foundation! Little did I know that apart from the perfectly matching make-up foundation you also need a good base. I learned that for my extremely dry skin I also needed a very good moisturizer and that I needed to take extra care after my skin to achieve flawless results.

Today I wanted to share with make-up and skincare products that I have been using lately and would highly recommend trying!

I finally found a great foundation which is not cakey, easy to apply and does not look heavy on my face. It is L’Oreal’s LUMI (I am using the color  DW3). I apply it in the morning before I leave for work and only blot it once during the day and I work 8 hours daily. Of course I set it with a setting powder. It gives radiance to my face without making it look like a mask.

I also use concealer as find it absolutely necessary for my undereye spots. As long as I remember myself I had dark circles under my eyes and I needed to even those out. Again I tried so many concealers I cannot even list them. I wanted a soft and gentle creamy consistency and of course a good coverage. All of that I found in Estee Lauder’s Double Wear concealer in color light medium. It not only covers my dark circles it also conceals acne and blemishes. It brightens up my face and gives a fresh looking appearance.

I also wanted to share with you with my recent purchase – Clinique's Undereye Repairwear, which is absolutely fantastic and I can feel the difference after using it for just a about a week. I apply it just before bed. It gives the feeling of firmness and takes a really good care of the sensitive area.

I just purchased the Sigma Flat Kabuki F-80 foundation brush. I have used it twice, but I am in love with it already! I finally found the perfect foundation brush. I simply apply two pumps of foundation on my hand, apply it on my brush and blend it on my skin in a stippling motion. I love the finish I get after using the brush. It is a synthetic brush and does not absorb the foundation which is great! It is definitely a must-have brush for every girl.

And the last, but not least is a present I got from my Aunt – Ives Rocher's face cream Pure Calmille. It is a face and body cream made with pure organic chamomile extract. I mainly use it as a moisturizer. It nourishes my skin and gives me the right base for a primer and foundation. With it, my skin never feels dry. I not only apply it before my make-up, I also apply it right after I take a shower. I put it on even before getting dressed and I feel so fresh and my skin loves it too! :)

That is it for now! Stay healthy and stylish!

Hi everyone! I am doing an OOTD! I will be having more of these once I get my camera back :)

I am wearing black Zara skinny jeans and Zara blazer in orange coral. My purse is from NewLook. On my neck I am wearing a gold pomegranate shaped necklace with leather string. My watch is just a cheapy which I purchased a long time ago from Ebay and I also have the white one. It went well with my today's look :)

I will be doing a recent favorite make-up review soon, so keep updated by visiting the blog frequently!

Hope you have a good day!

What I Ate Sunday!

Yesterday was a busy day for me. I had to do all the cleaning and organizing for the week. My husband usually helps me with cooking as he very much likes that. So the morning started with a delicious "taco-sausage" meal if I can call it so and ended with a yummy tomato sauce penne.

Breakfast - Taco, omelet topped with pork sausage and grated cheese. A tablespoon of ketchup and a pea-sized mayo, green gumbo were used as a decoration. To get the boat-type decoration on the side, an onion with tomato sauce and sausage chunks were used.

Late lunch (as the breakfast was kind of heavy) - cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, cow cheese, green onions with a pinch of oregano and a tiny bit of lemon juice squeezed on top.

Dinner - penne cooked in boiling water with a tomato sauce made with  garlic, chilli pepper and freshly chopped parsley on top. It was super delicious!

We had a "late-night snack craving" and decided to prepare this super yummy and fruity smoothy with fresh prunes, apple, banana and chocolate ice-cream. Can be considered as a healthy snack (of course not counting the ice-cream :) ).

Hope you enjoyed! Bon appetite!

Do You Like Planting? :)

Hi!

I wanted to show you the very few plants that we have right now. It is interesting how after a long and busy day at work you come home to these beauties. They give some kind of tranquility I guess and you relax. So here is my first plant which was brought all the way from the UK where my dad lives. It was a tiny plant, had just one leave and now it became so huge and is growing further!

It is called Cactus "Decembrist" as it blooms mostly in winter and has gorgeous flowers all over.

We also have a small palm tree which my husband bought just recently.

And here are some avocado pits which we planted in hopes to have an avocado tree in the near future. If you have any tips on how to make it faster, please comment.

Let's see how many tree will we actually get from these pits :)

Just in case if you are interested in how to grow an avocado tree, then just keep the pit of the avocado, poke wholes from each side and dip the bottom part into water as shown in the picture above. You will have to refill the water and never let it dry. Make sure to keep the avocados in the sun. It usually takes 2 months before you can see the sprout coming out. Mine are in the water for 1 month already and once they give roots, I will show you the next step!

                        Hope you enjoy planting!!

Friend Visit and Meals

My best friend visited me yesterday and I thought I'd make something delicious and healthy for the dinner. So here is what I made:

The ingredients I used are super healthy and easy to mix. I cut salad leaves, green bell pepper, tomatoes, green onions, opened a can of sweet corn and olives. I topped the salad with extra virgin olive oil and a little bit of salt. Yummm deliciosoo :)

For the main dish, we had chicken with potatoes. My secret for an unforgettable chicken marinade is the herbs I use before popping the chicken in the oven.

I cut a whole chicken into a serving size pieces. Then I mixed 1 teaspoon of salt, red pepper, garlic salt, oregano and curry together in a separate plate and made sure that those are well blended. I rubbed the mixture with my hands into the chicken and potatoes (except for potatoes I did not use curry). So I made 2 mixtures separately using the same amount of ingredients. Once done, I put the chicken into the fridge for 1 hour and c'est tout :) Before cooking I sprinkled olive oil on top (just a little bit) and put chunks of butter.

I forgot to take a picture afterwards, but that is ok as I promise you will just love it when it is ready!

Wishing you a great week! :)
